Makes 8 servings



makes two 16" pizzas from "Julia's Kitchen Wisdom" cookbook very versitile dough - use it to make rolls, sandwhich bread, etc

Recipe Ingredients for pizza dough

1 tbs active dry yeast
1/3 cup water
1/8 teaspoon sugar
1 cup water
3 1/2 cups white flour
2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for pizza dough

  1. proof yeast in 1/3 cup tepid water w/ sugar for 5 minutes, then add to cup of cold water

  2. combine dry ingredients, then transfer to food processor

  3. with machine running, dribble in water/yeast mixture

  4. check consistency of dough and correct with more flour or water as necessary

  5. let rest for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a floured board an knead 50 times

  6. let rise, then turn out and knead twice, then let rise again

  7. bake at 450f for 10-15 minutes
