Makes two large or several smaller pizza crusts.

Recipe Ingredients for Pizza Dough

3 1/2 teaspoons yeast
2 cups water
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Pizza Dough

Dissolve yeast in the water. Add enough of the flour to make a soft, smooth batter, cover the bowl and leave in a warm place to rise about 30 minutes. Sift remaining salt and flour together. Make a well in the middle and fill it with the risen dough and mix well. Knead vigorously, adding a little more flour if necessary, until the dough is smooth and elastic. Roll into a ball, place in a large bowl and leave in a warm place covered with a damp cloth for about 2 hours or until doubled.
