A typical and very good dough for pizza; you may leave out the olive oil (true Neapolitan pizza dough is made without it). Recipe will make 4 balls of dough suitable for a 12 to 14 inch pizza.

Recipe Ingredients for Pizza Dough: Carol Field's Recipe

2 tspn yeast
3 cups water
1 Tbspn sea salt
9 cups all purpose flour
4 Tbspn olive oil

Recipe Directions for Pizza Dough: Carol Field's Recipe

  1. Put water and yeast in mixer bowl and leave until creamy (about 10 minutes).

  2. Add olive oil if using?true Neapolitan pizza dough is made without oil.

  3. Add flour and salt and mix until combined; then knead at medium on stand mixer for 4 minutes or by hand; dough should be soft, velvety, and slightly sticky.

  4. Turn out into oiled bowl, cover, and allow to rise until doubled (about 1 1/2 hours).

  5. Divide dough in quarters, form into balls, cover with a towel, and rest for 20 minutes.
