Zesty alternative to traditional burgers.

Recipe Ingredients for Pizza Burgers (Including Bun)

4 Whole Wheat hamburger buns (150 calories each)
4 tbsp Fat Free Margarine spread
1 tsp Garlic Powder, divided
1 lb Extra Lean Ground Turkey
8 oz Pizza sauce, divided
1 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
3/4 cup Fresh Mushrooms, Diced
3/4 cup Raw Onion, Diced
1 1/2 cup Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided
1 serving turkey pepperoni (16 slices)

Recipe Directions for Pizza Burgers (Including Bun)

  1. Preheat oven to 350d

  2. Place a wire rack on a baking sheet (lining the baking sheet with foil will make for very easy cleanup)

  3. Spray the wire rack with nonstick cooking spray.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, 4 oz of the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, Diced Mushrooms, diced onions, and half of the shredded cheese.

  5. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and form into patties.

  6. Place patties on wire rack and bake for 15 minutes.

  7. Turn patties over and bake for 15 more minutes.

  8. Remove from oven and top each patty with remaining pizza sauce, 4 slices turkey pepperoni, and shredded cheese.

  9. Return to oven and cook 3-5 more minutes or until cheese melts.

  10. Meanwhile, split buns and place on a baking sheet.

  11. Spread margarine over buns and sprinkle with garlic powder.

  12. Place in oven for a few minutes until just heated and toasted.

  13. Serve burgers on buns.
