Makes 6 servings



Whole wheat version of my mom's pilaf.

Recipe Ingredients for Pilaf

1 1/2 cups brown rice
1/4 cup whole wheat spaghetti
2 vegetable stock cubes
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Recipe Directions for Pilaf

  1. Brown spaghetti in butter. Add rice and stir for a few minutes. Add 3 1/2 cups boiling water and 2 bouillon cubes.

  2. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover pan and simmer for about 35 minutes or until all moisture is gone.

  3. Let stand covered for 5 minutes.

  4. Fluff with fork and add chopped fresh parsley.
