Ground chicken and chopped veg seasoned with taco seasoning is wrapped in puff pastry and baked till golden and crisp.

Recipe Ingredients for Pies - Taco-seasoned Chicken

300 g ground chicken
2 cloves garlic, chopped
45 g red bell pepper, chopped
90 g carrots, coarsely grated
50 g frozen green beans, chopped
12 g Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Mix Original
595 g frozen puff pastry - 7 rectangles

Recipe Directions for Pies - Taco-seasoned Chicken

  1. Heat a frying pan. Add in garlic, stir till fragrant. Add chicken and brown.

  2. When 80% browned, add in peppers.

  3. When chicken is fully browned, add in carrots and beans. Cook for 2 min.

  4. Preheat oven to 175C.

  5. Remove from heat and add in corn kernels.

  6. Defrost puff pastry sheets as per package instructions.

  7. Place some filling on one half of a pastry sheet, fold over other half and seal by pressing edges with a fork.

  8. Pierce top of each pie with fork.

  9. Place on baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake till pastry expands and turns golden - for a shiny golden crust brush with a little lightly beaten egg or milk.

  10. Serve warm with a side salad and crispy tortilla chips.
