Recipe Ingredients for Pieless Apples

4 apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
2 tbsp flour
1/2 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 c rolled oats
2 tbsp non-dairy butter, softened

Recipe Directions for Pieless Apples

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the apples, flour, 1/4 c of the brown sugar, and 1/4 tsp of the cinnamon. Stir to coat, then transfer the mixture to a lightly oiled slow cooker.

  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the oats, the remaining 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and the nondairy butter. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples. Cover and cook on Low for 3 1/2-4 hours.

  3. Serve warm, spooned into dessert dishes and topped with a scoop of ice cream.
