A nice pie crust. Not too flakey, not too dense. I've included instructions for making individual serving pies. Does not include calories for pie filling.

Recipe Ingredients for Pie crust

1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1/4 c water
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c cold butter
1/4 c shortening

Recipe Directions for Pie crust

  1. Combine all ingredients except water in bowl and use a fork to smash them together until mixture is very crumbly. Add water until it comes together. Use more or less water if necessary.

  2. Roll out on lightly floured surface with floured rolling pin until dough to 1/8" thickness. Cut into 16 rounds. Roll out each round to about double size. Put 1 1/2-2 tsps pie filling in the middle, keeping away from the sides, and fold in half. Use a fork to crimp the edges together. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes and then 375 for 15 or until crusts are lightly browned on the edges.
