My interpretation of a philly cheesesteak (only with healthy turkey)

Recipe Ingredients for Philly Turkey Pita

1 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Red
1 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Green
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
1 cup, pieces or slices Mushrooms
16 oz Ground Turkey, fat-free (99%)
4 slice (1 oz) Provolone Cheese
1 loaf Pita Bread
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
1 dash Pepper, Black

Recipe Directions for Philly Turkey Pita

  1. Slice peppers and onion. Spray large skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium-high heat. Add peppers and onions. Cover and cook for 6 minutes until onions become tender. Season with salt and black pepper and add sliced mushrooms. Cook another 3 minutes until vegetables are tender.

  2. Add turkey to skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Stir to evenly combine veggies with meat.

  3. Add cheese to top of meat. Cover and let cheese melt.

  4. Slice a pita loaf in half and fill with one-quarter of the filling. Repeat with other three loaves. Eat and enjoy.
