These are a good meat substitute for a hamburger patty.

Recipe Ingredients for Perfect Patties

4 cups rolled oats
1 cup onion
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
2 tbsp. seasoned salt
1 tbsp molasses
3 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
1 tbsp italian seasoning
1/2 tbsp oregano
1/2 tbsp. basil

Recipe Directions for Perfect Patties

  1. Boil 4 cups of water. Mix with other ingredients; let sit in bowl for 20 minutes. Shape into patties using ⅓ cup measure or wide mouth mason jar lid and ring. (To form patties with lid, place lid inside ring and fill with patty mix. Invert ring and lid on cookie sheet. Place fingers around ring and put both thumbs on the lid, then press down through the ring. It will form a perfect patty.) Bake on sprayed cookie sheet at 350 for 25 minutes on one side, then 20 minutes on the other side. Time may vary according to patty size and oven heat. These patties taste better the next day and freeze well. Makes 24 -- ⅓ cup patties.
