Recipe Ingredients for Peppy Turkey Chili

1 medium onion (finely chopped)
1 green pepper (chopped)
1 t. olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1 lb lean ground turkey
28 oz crushed tomatoes
14 oz tomato puree
16 oz kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
16 oz black beans (drained and rinsed)
2 T. chili powder
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. cumin
1 dash hot sauce
2 t. brown sugar

Recipe Directions for Peppy Turkey Chili

  1. Saute onion & pepper in olive oil for 3 to 5 minutes.

  2. Add garlic and cook an additional minute.

  3. Add turkey and brown for 5 minutes.

  4. Add tomatoes and tomato puree and turn heat to low.

  5. Add beans and spices and simmer, stirring occasionally until mixture thickens.

  6. Add additional seasoning if needed.
