Pepper steak saute served over dumplings

Recipe Ingredients for Pepper Steak

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup light olive oil
1 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp garlic
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 medium yellow onion
1 1/2 lb lean round steak
1 green pepper
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp flour

Recipe Directions for Pepper Steak

  1. Cut meat into 1/4" strips

  2. Marinate meat in oil and spices

  3. Clean green pepper and cut lengthwise into 1/4" strips

  4. Cut onion into 1/4" cubes

  5. Cook onions without carmelizing

  6. Add meat and brown

  7. Add tomato sauce and water

  8. Cook until meat is tender, stiring occasionally

  9. Add green pepper

  10. Cook only long enough to heat the green pepper

  11. Add flour to thicken juice and stir to avoid clumping

  12. Serve over dumplings
