Recipe Ingredients for Pepper Steak

2 1/4 lbs. beef, round, top round
2 tbs. canola oil
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 cup onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
16 oz. can tomatoes
2 green peppers, cut into strips
1/2 cup cold water
1 tbs. cornstarch

Recipe Directions for Pepper Steak

Cut beef into strips and brown in oil. Transfer to slow cooker and add next 7 ingredients. Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours. Add tomatoes and green pepper, cook on low for 1 hour longer. Combine cold water and cornstarch, stir into liquid in slow cooker and cook on high until thickened. Serve over rice or noodles.
