Saucy Pepper Steak: The sauce in this dish deepens the flavor and adds a tasty kick. I substituted vinegar for soy sauce to reduce sodium content.

Recipe Ingredients for Pepper Steak

1 green bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 yellow onion
1 lb beef sirloin
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup barbecue sauce

Recipe Directions for Pepper Steak

  1. cut peppers, onion, and beef into strips

  2. sautee peppers and onion 6-8 mins. - remove to bowl

  3. add meat, garlic and pepper to same skillet and stir 3 mins

  4. add vinegar, cook until beef is cooked through

  5. add barbecue sauce, cook until heated through

  6. serve over rice
