Pasta tossed with blanched broccoli rabe and fresh ground pork sausage

Recipe Ingredients for Penne with sausage and Broccoli Rabee

32 oz Rapini, Broccoli Rabe, Broccoli Raab
6 serving high fiber penne trader joes
3 tbsp Oil Olive Extra Virgin
16 oz Pork Sausage, Fresh
3 clove Garlic
0.25 cup Parmesan, Grated Cheese

Recipe Directions for Penne with sausage and Broccoli Rabee

  1. Boil large pot of lightly salted water and blanch 2 bunches of Broccoli rabe until tender crisp abut 1 minute.

  2. Remove Rabe ot bowl to hold and cook 12 oz high fiber penne in cooing water. when al dente drain and reserve 1 cup cooking liquid.

  3. in the meantime,heat 3 T olive oil in large skillet and add pork sausage. ccccccc9casings removed or buy bulk sausage). Break up with spoon into small pieces and brown for about 8 minutes.

  4. add 3 cloves minced garlic and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes. Saute for about 30 seconds.

  5. Add broccoli rabe to pan,toss to coat.

  6. Add the pasta to skillet and enough cooking water to moisten.

  7. Stir in 1/4 c fresh grated parmesan chest and salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Cookbook says this is 4 servings but we've had about 9 so far and there is still a lot left.
