Recipe Ingredients for Penne Pasta Bake

16 oz penne pasta
1 lb. ground elk or beef
1/2 cup onion
15 oz tomato sauce
14 oz diced tomatoes
6 oz tomato paste
2 cups mozzarella cheese

Recipe Directions for Penne Pasta Bake

Preheat oven to 350. Boil noodles, drain and rinse. Cook meat and onions on stovetop, add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and paste. Simmer about 5 minutes. In 13x9 dish, layer 1/2 pasta, 1/2 sauce and 1/2 cheese; repeat layers. Cover with foil and bake 30-40 minutes or until cheese is melted and layers are hot.
