Recipe Ingredients for penne alla vodka

16 ounces penne pasta
1 medium onion, diced
2 tbsp butter or margarine
16 ounce tomatoes, drained
8 ounce tomato sauce
2/3 cup vodka
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 lb. ham, diced
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper

Recipe Directions for penne alla vodka

  1. Cook pasta according to label directions.

  2. In large skillet over medium-high heat, cook onion in hot butter until tender, about 5 minutes.

  3. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce. Add vodka; cook about 10 minutes.

  4. Blend in cream; heat to boiling.

  5. Add remaining ingredients except cheese and heat through.

  6. Toss with hot drained pasta.

  7. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.

  8. Makes 8 servings.
