Recipe Ingredients for Pecan Tarts


Crust:
3 ounce reduced free cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, soft
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour

Filling:
1 egg
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup chopped pecans

Recipe Directions for Pecan Tarts

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter; stir in flour until just blended. Chill for 1 hour. Shape into 1-in. balls; press into the bottom and up the sides of greased mini-muffin cups.

  2. For filling, beat the egg in a small mixing bowl. Add brown sugar, 1 tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. vanilla; mix well. Stir in pecans. Bake at 325 degrees F for 25-30 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack.
