Recipe Ingredients for Pecan Pie

2 cups flour
3/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup shortening
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup butter
1 cup pecans

Recipe Directions for Pecan Pie

  1. Mix and sift flour and salt. Cut in shortening with two knives. Add only enough water to hold the ingredients together (about a 1/4 cup). Do not knead. Divide dough in two parts. Roll out on a slightly floured board.

  2. Preheat oven to 350. Mix eggs, sugar, syrup, salt, vanilla and butter together. Spread the pecans in a layer in the pie shell and cover with the sugar mixture. Bake for 50 - 60 minutes.
