Recipe Ingredients for Pecan Butter

1 c. pecans, shelled
1 T. honey
1 T. canola oil
1 dash of cinnamon
1 dash of nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Pecan Butter

  1. Put pecans in blender and blend until very fine. Add honey, oil, and spices. Blend again briefly. Keeps will in refrigerator. Serve on toast.

  2. To make about one cup of nut butter, put 1 cups nuts or seeds into your blender or food processor. If you want to make more than one cup, I suggest you do it in batches, the processing is easier that way.

  3. You can use roasted or unroasted nuts and seeds. If you leave the skins on, you?ll have a butter richer in fiber and nutrition.

  4. Please remember that making nut butters this way leaves out the additives and preservatives that you get from an off-the-shelf item. Store any leftovers in an airtight container and in the refrigerator. Eat within a day or so for maximum taste and freshness.

  5. Blend or process for one minute, turning the machine off every ten seconds, until you?ve got a thick paste. Then add oil or water slowly, starting with one tablespoon to get clumping action started. Turn the machine off every 30 seconds during this final stage, which may take about three minutes.
