Recipe Ingredients for Pear Walnut Crisp


Topping:
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts

Filling:
18 ounces pears (about 2 medium)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Pear Walnut Crisp

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Mix first oats, brown sugar and flour in bowl. Add oil; mix with fork until coarse crumbs form.

  2. Combine fruit in 8-inch-diameter glass pie dish. Sprinkle sugar, lemon juice and brandy. Sprinkle cinnamon over. Sprinkle with oat mixture then top with chopped walnuts.

  3. Bake until fruit is tender and topping is golden brown, about 35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.

  4. For a healthful accompaniment serve with a scoop of frozen yogurt.
