Recipe Ingredients for Pear Crumble

4 pears
1 t vanilla extract
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t cloves
1 T fresh lemon juice
100 g flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
50 g unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
3 tablespoons Demerara sugar

Recipe Directions for Pear Crumble

  1. Preheat oven to 430 F.

  2. Do not peel fruit. Slice into small dice directly into a casserole. Grind spices each separately to allow you to adjust to your taste. Add spices and vanilla extract and lemon juice to fruit and mix well.

  3. Make crumble topping by rubbing the butter into the flour until you have a mealy mix like coarse sand. Mix in sugar. Sprinkle over the fruit.

  4. Bake for 30-40 minutes until crumble is super soft and syrupy.
