Recipe Ingredients for Pear Cobbler

2 cups sliced fresh pears
3/4 cup sugar
1 3/4 ounces unsalted butter
3/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup skimmed milk
1 egg

Recipe Directions for Pear Cobbler

  1. Mix pears with 1/4 cup sugar and let stand.

  2. Put butter in 2-quart casserole and place in 325 oven until melted.

  3. Combine all dry ingredients, including remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. Mix well.

  4. Beat egg and add to milk. Slowly combine with dry ingredients to make a batter.

  5. Pour over melted butter. Do not stir.

  6. Spoon pears on top of batter. Do not stir.

  7. Bake at 325 for 1 hour.
