Recipe Ingredients for Peanut Butter Molasses Refrigerator Cookies

2 c whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1/2 c peanut butter
1/3 c molasses
1 egg
6 tbs water
1/2 cup Hot Cocoa Mix

Recipe Directions for Peanut Butter Molasses Refrigerator Cookies

  1. Place the flour, baking powder, allspice & cinnamon in a bowl. Cut in the peanut butter until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.

  2. Stir in the molasses eggs and water. Mix well. Dough will have the texture of play dough when through.

  3. Roll out to about 40 cm (16 inches) in length and cover with baking paper. Place in refrigerator, or freezer if not baking right away, for ~ 1 hour.

  4. Mix hot cocoa mix with enough water to create a stiff frosting

  5. Cut dough into .5 cm (~1/4 to 1/2 inch) slices and place on baking sheet. Bake 10 - 15 min or until golden brown.

  6. Cool on a wire rack. Frost each cookie
