Adding molasses gives it more flavor, plus, it adds potassium, making this a good post-work-out snack.

Recipe Ingredients for Peanut Butter & Molasses Granola

4 cups quick oats
1/4 cup wheat germ, toasted
1/4 cup sunflower seeds, raw
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds, raw
1 cup almonds, raw, chopped
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
3 tablespoons flax seeds
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
1/2 cup peanut butter, organic, (no sugar added) creamy
1/4 cup molasses, black strap
1/4 cup honey
1 cup raisins, regular or golden

Recipe Directions for Peanut Butter & Molasses Granola

  1. Preheat the oven to 400.

  2. In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together.

  3. In a microwave safe bowl, combine the peanut butter, molasses, and honey, and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Maybe more, maybe less, just make it liquid.

  4. Pour the warm liquid over the dry ingredients and stir. Combine well.

  5. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet, and spread the granola mixture onto the sheet.

  6. Bake for 20-22 minutes, stirring half-way through.

  7. Cool on a wire rack. Add the raisins.

  8. Store in an airtight container.
