Recipe Ingredients for Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars - Reduced Sugar

1/2 c agave nectar
1/2 c peanut butter
2 c oats
2 c crisped rice cereal
1/4 c ground flaxseed
1 serving or 2 tbsp wheatgerm
1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola Bars - Reduced Sugar

  1. In a small sauce pan, mix agave nectar and/or corn syrup and brown sugar. Cook over medium-high heat until sugar is completely dissolved, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and quickly stir in peanut butter.

  2. Mix the oats, cereal, flax seed, and wheat germ in a large bowl. Pour honey mixture over dry ingredients. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

  3. Press mixture into a 9" x 13" pan that has been greased or lined with wax paper.

  4. Let cool and "firm up." Cut into 24 granola bars. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
