This recipie is from Jorge Cruise's 3 Hour Diet Cookbook*. Adding wheat germ to this fabulously simple toast, gives it a concentrated source of essential nutrients including folic acid, phosphorous, thiamine, zinc and magnesium.

Recipe Ingredients for Peanut Butter & Banana Toast (3 Hour Diet Meal)

2 slices whole wheat bread (toasted) **
2 T creamy peanut butter
1 T wheat germ, untoasted
1/2 banana, mashed (medium size about 3 oz w/o skin)

Recipe Directions for Peanut Butter & Banana Toast (3 Hour Diet Meal)

  1. Toast the bread to your liking.

  2. Spread 1T of peanut butter on each slice of bread

  3. Mash the banana and mix with 1T of wheat germ.

  4. Spread 1/2 the banana mixture on top of the peanut butter on each slice and enjoy! This is a highly nutritious meal so although it seems like "just toast" you will be surprisingly filled and satisfied for a good 3 hours.

  5. * I only modified the process by mixing the wheat germ w/the mashed banana instead of sprinkling on top (makes it a little easier to get down) and by using a 2nd slice of bread instead of the 6 oz of skim milk in the book. The calories still work out to be about the same and it fits within the 400 calorie meal plan.

  6. **The whole wheat bread I use is only 60 calories per slice - I used the closest I could find on here @70 per slice. Adjust accordingly for your preferred breads.
