a popular sweet dish made of roasted peanuts and jaggery, i.e. unrefined cane sugar.

Recipe Ingredients for peanut balls

1 oz peanuts, roasted without oil
2 tbsp sugar, brown, unrefined
1 tbsp water

Recipe Directions for peanut balls

  1. bring water to a boil, add the jaggery, reduce flame and stir till a very thick syrup is formed.

  2. remove from fire, add the roasted peanuts and roll into three balls while the mixture is still hot.

  3. tip: apply a little flour to your palms before handling the hot peanut-jaggery mixture.

  4. cool.
