A rather delicious, tart peach pie.

Recipe Ingredients for Peach Pie with Crumble Topping

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 T butter
1/8 t nutmeg
1/4 t cinnamon
5 cups peaches
1/2 cup sugar
2 T heavy whipping cream
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 t salt

Recipe Directions for Peach Pie with Crumble Topping

  1. Mix, in a small bowl, the 1/2 cup flour, nutmeg and cinnamon, whisk together, and then add Brown Sugar and mix that in. After that, cut in the 4 T of butter. Set aside.

  2. Mix peaches and sugar together, and then whisk together the egg and 2 T of whipping cream. Add those on top of the peaches, and toss the mixture.

  3. Make the pie crust as a standard pie crust, line the 9 inch pie pan and place the peaches into the pie crust. Put a 1 inch wide layer of crumble around the outside of the pie, do not fill in center. Bake at 375 for 35 minutes.

  4. Pull out pie, spread rest of crumble in the center and replace pie in oven for 12 minutes.

  5. Cool on a baking rack.
