simple pea soup! (each serving is about 1.5 cups prepared)

Recipe Ingredients for pea soup

4 c split peas
2 large carrots
2 stalks celery
3 cloves garlic
11 c water

Recipe Directions for pea soup

  1. boil 10 c water

  2. add peas, garlic, celery, carrot, etc (onions are good- use whatev you have around)

  3. let the soup boil for a few minutes and stir

  4. simmer simmer simmer! stir the soup every once in a while

  5. after an hour or so, if the soup looks really thick, add a cup of water

  6. simmer until thickened- probably another hour or so...

  7. note: the soup is pretty bland- add salt and pepper at your discretion
