Pea Soup, made from split peas, each serving is thick for dinner size portions.

Recipe Ingredients for Pea soup

2 cups ham, chopped
900 g yellow split peas
2 onions, diced
4 stalks celery, chopped
4 carrots, chopped
14 cups water

Recipe Directions for Pea soup

  1. Boil ham bone for 2 hours

  2. Strain ham from liquid, reserving water.

  3. When cool enough to handle, chop ham and return to pot

  4. Return liquid to pot with enough water to make 14 cups

  5. Add remaining ingredients and simmer approx 2 hours until peas are tender and start falling apart.

  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
