Recipe Ingredients for Pat's Tea Biscuits

2 cups white flour
4 tsps baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup Butter
1 cup milk - 1%

Recipe Directions for Pat's Tea Biscuits

  1. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together.

  2. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.

  3. Make a well in centre of these ingredients; add liquid slowly. When all the liquid has been added, stir dough rather vigorously until it comes freely from the side of the bowl.

  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured board and knead lightly for a few minutes.

  5. Roll or pat out to desired thickness - about 1/2 inch. Cut dough with 2 inch cutter and place on ungreased baking sheet.

  6. Bake in hot oven 450 F for 12 - 15 minutes.
