Recipe Ingredients for Pastitsio

7 oz whole wheat rotini
1 lb lean ground turkey
1 cup onion chopped
3 cloves garlic
8 oz. tomato sauce
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp oregano
1 egg
1 1/2 cups 1% milk
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp butter

Recipe Directions for Pastitsio

Brown turkey, garlic, and onion. Add sauce and spices. Cook rotini, drain, add 1/2 to greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 the cheese and top with meat mixture. Top with remaining pasta. Make white sauce with flour, butter and milk. Beat egg and a little white sauce to mix. Add egg mixture to white sauce, cook 1 min., then add the rest of the parmesan. Pour over pasta and bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-35 min. till golden brown.
