Recipe Ingredients for Pasties

680 grams Deer, Loin
2 cup, cubes Rutabagas
1 cup, cubes Turnips
3.5 cup diced Potatoes, Red, Flesh And Skin
1.5 cup, chopped Onions
1 cup, chopped Carrots
4 oz Granny Smith Apples
3 tsp Kosher Salt
3 tbsp Butter
1 tsp Pepper, Black
8 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
8.67 oz Crisco Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening

Recipe Directions for Pasties

  1. Mix flour, shortening and water. Knead into a dough and set aside.

  2. Chop all vegetables & meat. Mix with seasoning.

  3. Roll out dough into circles roughly the size of a small dinner plate. Place a little shy of a cup of filling inside. Fold over, crimp and ventilate.

  4. Bake at 400 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

  5. Freezes well.
