A simple, tasty sauce for Italian dishes

Recipe Ingredients for Pasta Sauce

1 teaspoon olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
14 1/2 ounce tomato

Recipe Directions for Pasta Sauce

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan or large skillet over medium-high heat

  2. Add onion and garlic; sauté 5 minutes

  3. Stir in vinegar and next 4 ingredients (sugar through tomatoes), and bring to a boil

  4. Reduce heat to medium, and cook, uncovered, about 15 minutes

  5. For a thinner texture, put in the blender

  6. *Can be stored for later use
