Lasagna without all the hassle of awkward lasagna sheets.

Recipe Ingredients for Pasta Lasagna

1 large onion, diced
1 small red pepper, diced
2 large carrots, diced
1 small zucchini, diced
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1 cup ricotta
1 1/2 cup mozzarella
1 egg
3 tsp garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp nutmeg
4 cups whole wheat spaghetti, cooked
4 ounces ground beef
4 ounces pork sausage

Recipe Directions for Pasta Lasagna

  1. Brown meat and once cook, set aside, then add olive oil and saute garlic, onions, peppers, carrots, celery, zucchini. Combine cooked meat with vegetable mixture. Add sauce, oregano, basil to the meat mixture.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, nutmeg, and egg.

  3. Cook 1 package of pasta (eg. spaghetti, or penne)

  4. Combine pasta with meat mixture. Begin layering pasta and ricotta mixture
