Recipe Ingredients for Pasta Fagioli

3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 large Onions
2 clove Garlic
28 oz San Marzano Peeled Tomatoes
30 oz Cannellini Beans
30 oz Garbanzo Beans
16 oz Ditalini Dry

Recipe Directions for Pasta Fagioli

  1. In a large pot, saute chopped onion until soft, about 10 minutes.

  2. Add a pinch of crushed red pepper and the minced garlic

  3. Run the tomatoes through a food mill, then add it to the pot with 1 cup of water

  4. Bring to a boil the reduce to simmer and cook for about 15 minutes

  5. Drain and Rinse all 4 cans of beans then add them to the pot and continue to cook for another 20 minutes

  6. In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil then add the pasta

  7. Cook pasta until it still has a bite in the middle, rough 8-9 minutes

  8. Once cooked, set aside 1 cup of the pasta water then drain the pasta and add it to the tomato mixture.

  9. Continue to cook for another 3 minutes or until pasta is done.
