Recipe Ingredients for Pasta with a creamy vodka sauce

2 oz vodka
2 cups white wine
4 cups whipping cream
3 oz romano cheese
1 lb pasta
15 fresh basil leaves
4 oz smoked salmon
1/2 lb asparagus
3 cloves garlic
4 T (2 whole) shallots
2 T olive oil
2 tsp chopped chives

Recipe Directions for Pasta with a creamy vodka sauce

  1. steam asparagus. set aside

  2. saute shallots and garlic in oil. remove from heat and add vodka/ wine. return to heat simmer until reduced by 2/3.

  3. add cream. simmer for 20 min, until thickening.

  4. add parmesan. stir until thickened.

  5. toss with freshly cooked pasta and asparagus. top with julliened smoked salmon and additional cheese if desired. sprinkle with chives and basil.
