pasta, whole wheat and white, peas, carrots, cheese sauce

Recipe Ingredients for pasta w/ cheese sauce and veggies

10 ounces pasta
10 ounces whole wheat pasta
2 cups 2% milk
4 tbs wondra flour
4 tbs smart balance
12 slices american cheese
2 ounces reduced fat cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups peas
1 1/3 cups carrots

Recipe Directions for pasta w/ cheese sauce and veggies

  1. cook pasta in one pot as directed

  2. in second pot, melt smart balance; add wondra flour.

  3. Add two cups of 2% milk.

  4. add ground mustard, salt, pepper,and cheeses (add cheese a little bit at a time and stir with whisk to melt; it helps to slice or rip the cheese with your hands to make it melt easier).

  5. When pasta is done, add thawed peas & carrots.

  6. pour cheese sauce over pasta & veggies.

  7. Makes 8 servings.
