Pasta with asparagus and peas in cream sauce

Recipe Ingredients for Pasta with asparagus and peas in cream sauce

8 oz whole wheat pasta
1/2 cup frozen peas
1/2 cup frozen asparagus
1 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp flour
1 tbsp butter
1 cup low-fat milk
1 salt
1 black or white pepper

Recipe Directions for Pasta with asparagus and peas in cream sauce

  1. Cook pasta in boiling water.

  2. After 7 minutes, add frozen vegetables and cook until pasta and veggies are tender.

  3. Drain and set aside.

  4. In a small saucepan heat butter over medium-low heat.

  5. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about a minute or two.

  6. Add flour and mix well.

  7. Slowly add the milk, constantly whisking until the sauce thickens.

  8. Season with salt and pepper and toss with pasta and veggies.
