Paprika Gravy Recipe

Not low-fat but high in vitamins.

Recipe Ingredients for Paprika Gravy

1/4 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1 red pepper
1 large onion
4 cups chicken stock
16 oz v8 vegetable juice
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons paprika

Recipe Directions for Paprika Gravy

  1. Mince garlic and chop pepper and onion. Saute in olive oil until tender.

  2. Add chicken stock and simmer until very soft (about 30 minutes).

  3. Puree in blender and return to pan.

  4. Add v8 juice.

  5. Stir flour into sour cream with a whisk.

  6. Whisk in 1 cup of vegetable puree and then add mixture to pan.

  7. Whisk in paprika and heat over low heat until thickened. Add salt to taste.
