Pan-searing gives the mushrooms a grilled taste. Chop it to use as a topping for crostini, or keep the mushroom whole and use it to make a Portabello mushroom burger as an alternative.

Recipe Ingredients for Pan-Seared Portabello Mushrooms

8 oz. Portabella mushroom
2 T. parsley
2 tsp. fresh oregano
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
1 salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Pan-Seared Portabello Mushrooms

  1. Chop parsley, oregano, and garlic together. Add olive oil and mix together.

  2. Stem mushroom and wipe clean.

  3. Coat wrought-iron skillet with a thin coat of olive oil. Turn to high heat. Sear mushroom for 3-4 minutes, then turn and sear other side. For crostini, chop mushrooms and combine with parsley mixture. Top toasted Italian bread slices. To use as a burger, keep whole, add parsley dressing to taste, and add desired condiments.
