Paella is a classic rice dish from the Catalan region of Spain. Paella is named after the shallow two-handled pan it is used to cook and serve in.

Recipe Ingredients for Paella

17.637 oz Sausage, Italian, Pork, Cooked
16 oz Shrimps
4 thigh, bone and skin removed Chicken, Thigh, Meat Only
1.5 cup Carolina Thai Jasmine Rice
1 cup, chopped Onions
1 cup, chopped Peppers, Sweet, Red
1.5 cup, chopped or sliced Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
8 ounce Mushrooms, Portabella
6 clove Garlic
1 tsp Saffron
8 oz Sweet Peas

Recipe Directions for Paella

  1. Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium high heat until hot. Add onions

  2. cook 1 - 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add chicken and sausage;

  3. cook about 4 minutes or until lightly browned.

  4. Add bell pepper and garlic; stir to combine. Add tomatoes and mush-

  5. rooms cook 4 - 5 minutes or until juices are released. Stir in the

  6. peas add rice; cover and let cook.

  7. Meanwhile bring 1/2 cup water to boil in small sacue pan. Add

  8. saffron; stir to dissolve.

  9. To rice mixture, add remaining water, and dissolved saffron and salt;

  10. stir to combine. Boil 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low; cover and cook

  11. 10 minutes.

  12. Add shrimp and peas. Cover and cook an additional 10 minutes or until

  13. shrimp turns pink, rice is tender, and all liquid is absorbed. If

  14. necessary add small amount of boiling water if all liquid is absorbed

  15. before rice is tender.
