This is a very good alternative to those deep-fried potato fries. Sweet potatoes can also be baked similar way and forms a wonderful accompaniment to any meal.

Recipe Ingredients for Oven baked potatoe fries

1 lb russet potatoes
2 tablespoons fresh basil
2 tablespoons turmeric
6 tablespoons grapeseed oil

Recipe Directions for Oven baked potatoe fries

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

  2. cut the potato into long sticks and keep aside.

  3. Take 2 baking pans and line them with aluminum foil. Grease it with a spoonful of oil and spread it around evenly or coat with nonstick cooking spray.

  4. Add oil, salt, turmeric, chilli powder and basil powder to a large bowl and toss to coat the potatoes evenly.

  5. Place the cut potatoes into the 2 pans. (Make sure that the potatoes are spread out and form a single layer).

  6. Bake for about 30 minutes and after that open and turn the potatoes with the spatula so that the other side is exposed.

  7. Bake for another 15 minutes or so until it turns golden brown. (Keep checking at regular intervals, so that the potatoes do not burn)
