Recipe Ingredients for Oven baked macaroni and cheese

13 1/2 oz elbow macaroni, dry
2 eggs, whole
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped
3 tablespoons cheddar cheese, powdered
1 lb cheddar cheese, grated
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp onion salt
1 tsp garlic salt
1 cup milk

Recipe Directions for Oven baked macaroni and cheese

  1. cook macaroni as directed on package.

  2. in a small bowl, mix powdered cheese with a little milk to form a thick paste. Continue adding milk up to 1 cup, stirring and making sure there are no lumps in the paste.

  3. Add eggs, onions, bell pepper, celery, and seasonings

  4. Generously butter sides and bottom of 9 x 9 baking pan.

  5. When macaroni is done, drain it and return it to the pot it was cooked in. Add egg, milk, and cheese mixture and stir thoroughly.

  6. Pour 1/2 of the macaroni mixture into the baking pan.

  7. Cover the top generously with 1 lb of grated cheese

  8. Pour the remaining macaroni mixture over the grated cheese.

  9. Spread the remaining 1 lb of grated cheese over the macaroni.

  10. Bake at 350 for one hour or until top is golden brown and bubbling. Sprinkle lightly with paprika before serving
