Our homemade mushroom and olive pizza, less cheese

Recipe Ingredients for Our Healthier Homemade Pizza

1/4 tsp Yeast
1 tsp Sugars, Granulated
1 cup (8 fl oz) Water
2 1/2 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp Salt
6 oz Tomato Paste
4 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
0.33 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1/4 tsp Italian Seasoning
1/2 tsp Salt
120 grams Mozzarella, Part Skim Milk Cheese
1 1/4 cup, pieces or slices Mushrooms
4 tbsp Olives, Ripe, Canned (Small-extra Large)

Recipe Directions for Our Healthier Homemade Pizza

  1. In medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in 1 cup warm water (110 degrees). Let stand for about 10 minutes.

  2. While yeast rises, prepare pizza sauce. In small bowl, empty tomato paste. Add EVOO (1/4 cup) a little at a time, mixing it completely between each pour. Add water (1/3 cup) a little at a time, mixing it completely between each pour. Add Italian Seasoning (1/4 tsp) and Salt (1/2 tsp).

  3. Shred cheese and slice mushrooms, if needed.

  4. Return to yeast, add 1 tsp salt and 2 1/2 cups flour. Mix until partially incorporated. Add 2 tbsp EVOO. Mix completely. Do not over mix.

  5. Turn dough out onto a floured cutting board, shape into pizza round.

  6. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan.

  7. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

  8. Spread pizza sauce on dough.

  9. Line sauce with mushrooms and olives.

  10. Top with cheese.

  11. Cook pizza for 17 minutes. Turn oven off, leave pizza in oven for 3 minutes. Remove pizza from oven, allow to rest for 5 minutes. Cut into 8 slices and serve.
