This is our favorite family meatloaf recipe, but made healthier by using egg beaters, skim milk, cutting the salt and brown sugar and using half beef and half turkey.

Recipe Ingredients for Our Favorite Meatloaf

1/2 cup egg beaters
3/4 cup skim milk
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onions
2 tablespoons snipped parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 cup shredded zucchini
3/4 pounds extra lean ground beef
3/4 pounds ground turkey breast
1/4 cup ketchup
1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard

Recipe Directions for Our Favorite Meatloaf

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Combine egg beaters and milk; stir in crumbs, onion, parsley, salt, sage, zucchini and a dash of pepper. Add beef and turkey and mix well. Pat into 8x4x2 loaf pan and bake for 75 minutes.

  3. Spoon off any fat. Mix ketchup, brown sugar and dry mustard; spread over meat and return to oven for 10 minutes.
