Orzo Swiss Steak Recipe

Makes 6 servings



Filling and low calorie dinner. Serves 6 - 8 1 1/5 cup serving size. I use a teaspoon of sugar just to cut the sharpness of the tomato down but it is an optional. I didn't add spices but put a little salt and pepper on my own dish. If serving 8 I would add one more 4 oz steak.

Recipe Ingredients for Orzo swiss steak

8 oz Beef
1/2 cup pieces Mushrooms
1 serving Stewed Tomatoes
0.5 cup, chopped Peppers, Sweet, Green
0.5 cup, sliced Onions
50 grams Cilantro leaves
2 tsp California Style Minced Garlic made from Fresh Garlic
1.5 cup dry Unico Orzo
1 1tsp Olive Oil
5.5 oz Tomato Paste
2 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1 tsp Sugars, Granulated

Recipe Directions for Orzo swiss steak

  1. Prepare 1 1/2 cup dried orzo as per package.

  2. Cut steak into thin strips. Heat oil in deep frying pan. Add meat, and garlic. Once the juices from the meat start coming add 1/4 cup fresh cut cilantro. Cook together for about 4 minutes then add diced green peppers and onion. 1/2 cup each.

  3. When veggies are soft add mushrooms (drained and rinsed) and tomatoes. Simmer together until meat is done.

  4. Add cooked orzo and can of tomato paste stir together and then add up to 2 cups water depending on your desired thickness of sauce. If adding sugar do so now and simmer together for another 5 minutes.
