Recipe Ingredients for Original Pampered Chef Chicken & Broccoli Braid

2 c. cooked chicken, chopped
1 c. broccoli, chopped
1/2 c. red bell pepper, chopped
1 c. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (4 oz.)
1 clove garlic, pressed
1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 t. dill weed, dried
1/4 t. salt
16 pillsbury crescent rolls, refrigerated (2-8 oz. pkgs)
1 egg white, lightly beaten
2 T. slivered almonds

Recipe Directions for Original Pampered Chef Chicken & Broccoli Braid

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. In a 2 qt bowl, add chopped chicken, broccoli, bell pepper, cheese, garlic, mayonnaise, dill, and salt; mix this well.

  3. Unroll 1 pkg of crescent roll dough; do not separate. Arrange longest sides of dough across width of 12x15 baking stone or cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining pkg of dough. Using a roller, roll dough to edges of baking stone/cookie sheet, sealing perforations. On longest sides of baking stone/cookie sheet, cut dough into strips 1 1/2 inches apart, 3 inches deep using pizza cutter or knife (there will be 6 inches in the center for the filling).

  4. Spread filling evenly over middle of the dough. To braid, lift strips of dough across mixture to meet in the center, twisting each strip one turn. Continue alternating strips to form a braid. Tuck ends up to form a rim at end of braid.

  5. Brush egg white over the dough and sprinkle with almonds.

  6. Bake 25-28 minutes or until deep golden brown.
