everyone likes and the original recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of fresh corn from the cob.. I actually like that more.

Recipe Ingredients for oriental chichen and pea (or corn) soup

1/2 lb chicken breast
4 c chicken broth, low fat, low sodium
1 1/2 t dark sesame oil
3 T cornstarch
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 T ginger, fresh grated
1 1/2 c peas
3/4 c water
1 egg

Recipe Directions for oriental chichen and pea (or corn) soup

  1. mix 1/2 t of oil with 1 T of cornstarch and 2 T of broth with chicken

  2. Saute the garlic and ginger for 10 sec

  3. add the chicken mixture and saute for 2 minutes.

  4. Add broth cover and bring to boil

  5. Add peas or corn reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes

  6. combine 2 t of cornstarch with the water and add to the soup. Stir until it boils. slowly pour beaten egg into boiling soup;stir ~30 sec or until thin strands are formed. Stir in 1/2 t sesame oil and you can sprinkle with green onions
